Meet your Santa Fe principals, Mr. Simmelink and Ms. Preston!

Mr. Simmelink is returning for his third year at Santa Fe 5/6 Center. When not at school, Mr. Simmelink enjoys woodworking.


USD 373 and Santa Fe ⅚ Center welcomes Assistant Principal, Belinda Preston for the 2024-2025 school year.

Preston previously worked at Santa Fe from 2005 to 2009 as an interrelated special education teacher. Since then, she has worked in USD 259 Wichita Public Schools, USD 265 Goddard Public Schools and the Sedgwick County Special Education Interlocal Cooperative. 

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from William Penn University in 2003 along with her special education and reading endorsement and a Master of Science in Building Leadership from Newman University in 2016. 

“I am thrilled to join the Santa Fe 5/6 Center as an assistant principal and look forward to working with the dedicated staff and students to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive,” Ms. Preston said.

Ms. Preston looks forward to using her skills and knowledge from her Special Education leadership roles to assist others in their own teaching and continued learning.
