NMKSO Winter Classics Concert

NMKSO presents "First Flights," Sunday, Feb. 15 in Memorial Hall at Bethel College. The concert, paying tribute to young artists and composers, features the Dwight Beckham Young Soloists Seth Balzer and Ryan Antle!

Harvey County is rich in native fruits, berries, nuts, and other foodstuffs that often go unused.

Examples of what you might find: Apples,Apricots,Black Cherry,Black Walnut,Blackberries,Currants,Elderberries,Garlic,Grapes,GooseberriesMint,Mulberries,Onions,PawPaws,Pecans,Pears,Persimmons,Sandhill Plums,Serviceberries.


Ethical Foraging:
NEVER eat anything unless you are 100% sure it is safe. When in doubt, take photos and use an image search to help. Take no more than 20% of what is available to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the harvest.

HC Winter Community Day

Join Hesston College at Yost Center for a full day of basketball featuring performances by the Lark dance team, halftime activities and prizes and free haircuts provided by Christy (Berkey) ’03 Pickerill of CC’s Family Hair. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

Newton's Birthday Bash

All aboard the Birthday Express!
Newton turns 154 with a week of celebration Feb. 16–21-starting with Third Thursday activities and free concession tickets for NHS basketball, followed by Friday’s Pack the House home games with free admission for the first 50 attendees, and wrapping up with a Birthday Bash at the Rec Center on Saturday, Feb. 21 (11 AM–2 PM) featuring games, inflatables, teen game room, performances, and family fun.

Railiners Little Dancer Clinic

Join us for the Railiners Little Dancer Clinic on Sunday, February 15th! This fun-filled clinic gives young dancers the chance to learn choreography, build confidence, and dance alongside the Railiners. Open to dancers (aged preschool-8th grade) of all experience levels, participants will enjoy an unforgettable day of movement, energy, and a special performance opportunity. They will then get to perform what they learn at halftime of the Varsity Boys Basketball on Tuesday, February 17th. Register today and join the fun! 💃🚂

Donkey Basketball, Prom Fundraiser - FEB 16

Come out for an evening of laughter and fun! **MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16** at 7 pm at the Ravenscroft Gym at NHS. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Children 5 and under are free! There will be free donkey rides for children during intermission! Fine Arts Hog Roast 2026

Join us for our annual Fine Arts Booster Club Hog Roast on Friday Feb. 6, 2026 from 5-9pm at the homecoming basketball game at Newton High School! The full meal deal for $10.00 includes a sandwich, beans, chips, water, and slice of pie. The sandwich only is $5.00. We have carry out trays if you don't want to stay for the game but just want to have supper ready. All funds raised go to support the Newton Fine Arts programs of band, choir, orchestra, drama and art. Thank you for supporting the Fine Arts programs!
